A nurse working in the emergency department of a hospital or trauma center works in a fast-paced and stressful environment and must be able to make decisions quickly. To become a nurse, a candidate must complete a Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in nursing, or receive a certificate from a nursing school. To receive the designation as an RN, a graduate must pass the national nursing examination. The salary for a job in emergency nursing varies from $55,000 to $75,000 per year depending on the experience and skill of the nurse.
