In this key position, you will manage and oversee the fiscal, human resources, clinical, materials management, and communication operations functions of the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center Emergency Department and Emergency Care Unit (ECU). This will involve fostering an environment that empowers nurses, supports their professional development, and encourages collaborative teamwork. You will recruit, hire, evaluate, mentor, and train staff; plan and facilitate delivery of patient care and oversee resource utilization. You will also be responsible for developing processes and systems for achieving consistent excellence in patient-centered care. Qualifications
We’re seeking an exceptionally gifted leader with:
- Bachelors and Master’s Degree required, one of which must be in Nursing
- Current RN License required
- 3 or more years of acute care emergency department at the manager level required
- Experience working in academic medical center or Magnet facility preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive clinical leadership experience
- At least 3 years experience and skilled in prioritizing in planning, developing, implementing, and managing operating and capital budgets required
- Knowledge, understanding, and implementation experience about TJC, CDPH CMS regulations as they pertain to emergency departments
- Nursing Professional Leadership (i.e. ENA, ANCC, or AONE preferred)
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
- Knowledge to manage disaster incidents, sentinel events, and ability to problem-solve with critical thinking skills
- Ability to assess, plan, intervene and evaluate department process, operations, and staffing effectively
- Ability to inform and educate clinical leadership team for development
