Patient Care Tech (PCT) - Southwest Fort Worth - Full -Time Day Shift - Medical/Surgical Telemetry

Position Highlights



  • Work location: Texas Health Southwest, 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132

  • Work environment: Medical/Surgical Telemetry

  • Work hours: Full-Time Day Shift, 7:00A-7:00P with rotating weekends and holidays.

  • Salary range: $13.28 - $19.83 per hour (based on relevant experience)


Our tight-knit and compassionate team on our 36-bed Medical/Surgical - Telemetry Unit cares for patients with Pneumonia, abdominal surgeries, hernia, COPD, diabetics, sickle cell, CDiff, Robotic hysterectomies and oncology mastectomies. Our unit has high satisfaction scores and is known positive culture, great preceptors and teamwork. We offer our Nurses educational and professional opportunities as one-third of the nurses are certified by the Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification Board.
We are a Magnet designated facility, Joint Commission certified in chest pain, heart failure and stroke, recipient of the Premier Quest Award for High-Value Healthcare and a Texas Ten Step Member Mother Friendly Worksite
Qualifications
Qualifications



  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required

  • CNA - Certified Nurse Aide license or

  • RN Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or Military experience with medical training equivalent and

  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support

  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 60 days of hire.

  • Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast paced work environment

  • Positive interpersonal skills, and

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.


Nursing Students who do not complete course of study in nursing but having completed their Fundamentals Training and EMTs who do not formally retain their EMT status may continue in role if they have consistently demonstrated skills in their PCT position.
After hire PCT CNA renewal is not a requirement of the role if the PCT has consistently demonstrated skills in their PCT position.
Responsibilities
Texas Health Resources Patient Care Technicians are responsible for providing assistance to patients according to plan of care, collecting patient data, identifying and reporting significant findings to nurse, the delivery of patient care that promotes the safety and well-being of all patients, demonstrating excellent customer service while admitting, transferring or discharging as needed. You may also be responsible for some administrative tasks on an as-needed basis.
In addition to the required qualifications, a successful PCT will



  • provide and revise patient activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences

  • enter orders into computer or manual systems

  • document accurately and appropriately

  • keep patient environment clean and maintains safe environment

  • use Professional Practice Model philosophy to work in partnership with patients, families, physicians, peers and all other discipline

  • demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to changes in schedule and/or workload assignment necessary to meet changing needs of the individual patient or unit.
