LPN LVN (Licensed Practical Nurse) Jobs
LPN/LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse)
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of licensed vocational nurses is expected to grow by 21 percent in the next decade. A licensed practical nurse takes a patient’s vitals, including a temperature, blood pressure, and weight, under the supervision of a nurse or physician. LVN’s must complete a program at a vocational school or community college in addition to passing a state administered LVN exam. Educational programs typically take about one year to complete. A licensed vocational nurse’s salary varies due to geographical location and the nurse’s experience, but a LVN will earn $35,000 to $45,000 per year. LVNs that obtain employment in nursing care facilities on average earn more than LVNs working in a physician’s private practice.
