Medical Assistant Staff
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment is projected to grow much faster than average for medical assistant staff, and a medical assistant is expected to be one of the fastest growing careers in the United States. Medical assistants support a doctor’s office by performing administrative tasks like answering phones and scheduling appointments. Educational requirements for medical assistants differ by employer, with some employers requiring a medical assistant to attend a postsecondary program, and others will train an individual with just a high school diploma. Candidates that obtain certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants or the Association of Medical Technologists may be more favorable to employers. Medical assistants earn between $25,000 and $30,000 per year based upon the geographical location of the position and the skill level of the candidate.
