Nurse Practitioner (NP) Jobs
Nurse Practitioner
Nurse practitioners are in demand, and their job opportunities will grow as the US population continues to age. A nurse practitioner’s duties and responsibilities are very similar to a physician’s and include evaluating a patient’s condition and prescribing medication. However, a nurse practitioner does not have to attend medical school but is, instead, a registered nurse with an advanced degree. To become a nurse practitioner, one must fulfill the educational requirements of a nurse, including graduating from a nursing program and passing a state licensing exam. An individual who wishes to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner must also earn a master’s degree in nursing. A career as a nurse practitioner is rewarding and pays well too. A nurse practitioner earns between $65,000 and $90,000 per year depending upon the place of employment and geographical location.
